Infor­ma­tion security

Access to per­sonal infor­ma­tion (e.g. names and emails) is restricted to Karyn and John, and their son who helps to admin­is­ter the web­site. Your per­sonal infor­ma­tion will never be passed onto a third party unless you have expressly asked us to do so.

Infor­ma­tion we col­lect and how we use it

Off The Steps col­lects no per­sonal infor­ma­tion about you when you visit our web­site unless you choose to pro­vide this infor­ma­tion to us.

  • Reser­va­tion and mail­ing list forms – When you sub­mit infor­ma­tion through our reser­va­tion or mail­ing list forms we ask you for per­sonal infor­ma­tion to help us iden­tify you and pro­vide our ser­vices to you. We may also use cer­tain pieces of aggre­gated, non-personal infor­ma­tion, such as the num­ber of peo­ple who have booked through our web­site for mar­ket­ing pur­poses. Such infor­ma­tion does not iden­tify you individually.
  • Com­mu­ni­ca­tions – When you send email or other com­mu­ni­ca­tions to Off The Steps, we may retain those com­mu­ni­ca­tions in order to process your inquiries, respond to your requests and improve our service.
  • Cook­ies – When you visit Off The Steps, we send one or more cook­ies—a small file con­tain­ing a string of char­ac­ters — to your com­puter that uniquely iden­ti­fies your web browser. We use cook­ies to improve use of the web­site by stor­ing user pref­er­ences and track­ing user trends.
  • Log infor­ma­tion – When you access Off The Steps, our server auto­mat­i­cally records infor­ma­tion that your browser sends when you visit, such as type of web browser, net­work loca­tion and IP address, time of visit, time spent on site, and the web­site that referred you. Vis­i­tors with Javascript enabled are also tracked using Google Ana­lyt­ics, which col­lects and shares sim­i­lar infor­ma­tion with Google. Please note that this Pri­vacy Pol­icy may change from time to time. We will not reduce your rights under this Pri­vacy Pol­icy with­out your explicit con­sent, and we expect most such changes will be minor. Regard­less, we will post any Pri­vacy Pol­icy changes on this page and, if the changes are sig­nif­i­cant, we will pro­vide a more promi­nent notice on our home page.
